Update on Baby Fanilo...
Baby Fanilo is alive and doing well in hospital... and .... she's a GIRL!!! Thought they said she was a boy yesterday!! She's 1.4 kg and SOOO TINY!! She is in intensive care but there are no free incubators for her so she is in a cot with a bedside lamp shining onto her to try to warm her up. She is a total miracle already and is doing well... please keep praying for this tiny beautiful little miracle... God got her and her mum to us for a reason. They were on a bus and she didn't know what to do as the baby was dying and she had no money... and someone on the bus told her to come to us and that we would help her! She arrived just in perfect time... the baby stopped breathing as soon as we got her to the hospital.. and they were able to resuscitate her.. 3 minutes later and she wouldn't have made it... but she DID!! She's going to LIVE and her life is going to be such an incredible miracle ♥ .
Please pray...
.... for our latest little baby. He was born at home at around 7 months of pregnancy and weighs 1.4kg. He's 6 days old today and his mum had kept him at home until now as she had no money for hospital. Today we've taken him in hospital and on arrival he stopped breathing and had to be rescusitated. We are asking for LIFE LIFE LIFE for this little treasure. His name is Fanilo.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA CAROLINE!!

Amazing Children
February 16th 2012
Our kids amazed us yesterday! There was 32 children in the house, with no school, no power (so no watching movies!) and it was raining hard so they couldn't go outside. We were expecting chaos!! We arrived to find them in their 2 classrooms sitting in silence! They had decided to have school even though there were no teachers! One of the girls played 'teacher' for the older kids class, and one of the little boys was teacher for the little ones. They taught the kids how to draw a picture of a house! The kids sat in silence drawing their houses in their exercise books and came up one by one to show them to their 'teacher', who gave them all marks out of 10!! They kept this up until snack time, when their 11 year old teacher rang the bell and announced recess time!! We sat in complete shock and amazement and tried very hard not to laugh!!
Thank you for your prayers

Hi guys! We've just got power back again after almost 24 hours without power!! Yeay!! Thanks so much for praying. We are all fine and so are our houses! It was a crazy storm that lasted the whole night with the house literally shaking as it was battered by CRAZY winds!! We had about 2 hours sleep in little pieces and are really tired but so glad it's over!! The damage around our area isn't as bad as I thought.. In our village there are trees down, concrete electricity pilons down and many of the poorer houses lost roofs, walls, gates, and one house in the village here fell down... I'm not sure about the rest of Tana yet and have heard nothing about the coast where it hit hardest... but imagine there were lots of homes destroyed there.... on a happier note me and the kids decorated valentines cookies this evening by candle light!!
Please pray....

Hi there,
Just a quick prayer request please... it is cyclone season here in Madagascar and we have had a few cyclones already this year.
There is currently a severe cyclone called Cyclone Giovanna just off the coast of Madagascar and it is expected to hit here this evening. It is currently a category 4 (out of 5) with wind speeds of 130-155 mph.
It is supposed to hit the east coast first and then move accross Antananrivo (where we live) before it makes it's way accross the chanel to Mozambique...
Antananarivo where we live is high on a mountain plato so by the time the storm gets here it will be much weaker with winds of more like 100 mph maximum.
I would like prayers please that this cyclone weakens and disappears before hitting Madagascar. Please pray for Divine Protection for the East coast as if the cyclone hits it could cause a lot of damage there. There are many people living there and some missionary bases too. Also please pray for us here!
Thank you, blessings Caroline

"Tranon'ny Harena Sarobidy"
House of the Precious Treasure
February 2009
The plan for Iris Madagascar is to build a Baby House called Tranon'ny Harena Sarobidy (House of the Precious Treasure). It will take in abandoned babies, orphans and also begin to take in street children and homeless families. They will be given a loving home and raised to know what precious treasures they really are, each one unique and with a special purpose in life.
Iris Madagascar is an Iris base which is currently in the early stages of development and will be the first base in Madagascar. Madagascar is an extremely beautiful island about 400km (250 miles) off the coast of Mozambique. It has an abundance of unique wildlife and plants, and many beautiful sights including rainforest, coast and mountains. Madagascar is also one of the poorest countries in the world, and is currently undergoing a political crisis. At the moment (according to the world banks), it is ranked as one of the poorest countries in the world. The population is 20 million and 85% of that population live on less than $2 a day. Sadly 1:10 children die before they reach 5 years old.
At the moment Caroline is setting up the project from outside the country, sorting out the paper work for NGO status in Madagascar, raising funds and putting together a team. She hopes to be in Madagascar sometime in 2010.
Iris Madagascar is a part of Iris Ministries, a Christian organisation working with the poor, the abandoned, the widowed and the orphaned in many parts of the world. For amazing testimonies, beautiful photos and much more information please visit
