Our Princess Twins

4th December

Our little Princess's are doing so well and are gaining weight so fast! They have gained well over 100g again each.... so in 4 days Noro has gone from 1670g to 2080 and Niry has gone from 2200 to 2660!! They are amazing and are getting so big so fast! We're so proud of them!!! ♥ ♥

3rd December

Hi everyone. I'm Caroline from Iris Madagascar. Thank you so much for your love and prayers for our precious little girls. We are totally in love with them and are soaking up every precious moment with them. They are doing really well, feeding really well and are both gaining weight exceptionally fast! We are so glad that God kept them safe and that He brought them into our Iris Madagascar family! Many people have mentioned adoption. Sadly these babies are not available for adoption as they have a living father, grandparents, and older siblings. The family are unable to look after them at the moment but will visit them regularly and hope to be able to take them back again when the girls are older. Thank you for your prayers, please keep praying LIFE and STRENGTH over these little Princesses! People are asking how they could donate to their care, you are welcome to donate online via the Iris website (www.irismin.org) and label the donation as 'Iris Madagascar- Twin Girls'. Thank you so much and God bless you all! There will be more updates on the Iris Madagascar page. Bless you all!

2nd December

Thank you to everyone who have been praying for our Princess Twins! They are doing really well and we are so in love with them! They have both gained over 200g in 48 hours which is incredible, they are feeding so well! They may be tiny but they are very strong and will soon be very BIG! Please continue to pray LIFE and STRENGTH over them.

I found out today that the little one was born 2.3kg, therefore she has lost half of her body weight in 15 days, poor little thing. That explains her huge appetite and constant feeding! She maybe tiny but she is a tough cookie and is determined to grow as fast as she possibly can now!

1st December

So impressed that our little Princesses have grown so much in the past 2 days! One has gone from 2200 kg to 2490 kg! The other from 1670g to 1890g!! So both have gained over 200g and I'm so proud of them! Tiny soon to be big babies! ♥

30th November

Amazing news here, we got the twins yesterday, they are both girls and seem really healthy but TINY! One is 2.2kg and the other is 1.6kg!! Tiny little princesses!! So far they are doing well and are gorgeous!!!

Update on Baby Fanilo...

Baby Fanilo is alive and doing well in hospital... and .... she's a GIRL!!! Thought they said she was a boy yesterday!! She's 1.4 kg and SOOO TINY!! She is in intensive care but there are no free incubators for her so she is in a cot with a bedside lamp shining onto her to try to warm her up. She is a total miracle already and is doing well... please keep praying for this tiny beautiful little miracle... God got her and her mum to us for a reason. They were on a bus and she didn't know what to do as the baby was dying and she had no money... and someone on the bus told her to come to us and that we would help her! She arrived just in perfect time... the baby stopped breathing as soon as we got her to the hospital.. and they were able to resuscitate her.. 3 minutes later and she wouldn't have made it... but she DID!! She's going to LIVE and her life is going to be such an incredible miracle ♥ .

Please pray...

.... for our latest little baby. He was born at home at around 7 months of pregnancy and weighs 1.4kg. He's 6 days old today and his mum had kept him at home until now as she had no money for hospital. Today we've taken him in hospital and on arrival he stopped breathing and had to be rescusitated. We are asking for LIFE LIFE LIFE for this little treasure. His name is Fanilo.

Amazing Children

February 16th 2012

Our kids amazed us yesterday! There was 32 children in the house, with no school, no power (so no watching movies!) and it was raining hard so they couldn't go outside. We were expecting chaos!! We arrived to find them in their 2 classrooms sitting in silence! They had decided to have school even though there were no teachers! One of the girls played 'teacher' for the older kids class, and one of the little boys was teacher for the little ones. They taught the kids how to draw a picture of a house! The kids sat in silence drawing their houses in their exercise books and came up one by one to show them to their 'teacher', who gave them all marks out of 10!! They kept this up until snack time, when their 11 year old teacher rang the bell and announced recess time!! We sat in complete shock and amazement and tried very hard not to laugh!!

Thank you for your prayers

February 14th 2012

Hi guys! We've just got power back again after almost 24 hours without power!! Yeay!! Thanks so much for praying. We are all fine and so are our houses! It was a crazy storm that lasted the whole night with the house literally shaking as it was battered by CRAZY winds!! We had about 2 hours sleep in little pieces and are really tired but so glad it's over!! The damage around our area isn't as bad as I thought.. In our village there are trees down, concrete electricity pilons down and many of the poorer houses lost roofs, walls, gates, and one house in the village here fell down... I'm not sure about the rest of Tana yet and have heard nothing about the coast where it hit hardest... but imagine there were lots of homes destroyed there.... on a happier note me and the kids decorated valentines cookies this evening by candle light!!

 Please pray....

February 13th 2012

Hi there,
Just a quick prayer request please... it is cyclone season here in Madagascar and we have had a few cyclones already this year.
There is currently a severe cyclone called Cyclone Giovanna just off the coast of Madagascar and it is expected to hit here this evening. It is currently a category 4 (out of 5) with wind speeds of 130-155 mph.
It is supposed to hit the east coast first and then move accross Antananrivo (where we live) before it makes it's way accross the chanel to Mozambique...
Antananarivo where we live is high on a mountain plato so by the time the storm gets here it will be much weaker with winds of more like 100 mph maximum.
I would like prayers please that this cyclone weakens and disappears before hitting Madagascar. Please pray for Divine Protection for the East coast as if the cyclone hits it could cause a lot of damage there. There are many people living there and some missionary bases too. Also please pray for us here!

Thank you, blessings Caroline

Latest Update & A Lovely Story

September 2010

Exciting news, we are now having about 40 kids to lunch every week day!! Some are street kids & some are really poor kids from our area who's families can't afford to feed them. It's a lot of fun!

We decided to hire someone to cook lunch for the kids, and met this lovely lady Clarisse begging on the street in town. She was really pregnant and had a 2 year old, I asked her if she wanted to come back and work for us and she accepted. She has cooked lunch for the kids every day since then, she's great! She had a lovely baby boy about 2 weeks ago and just brings him along with her. She lives in a little house but was begging as she couldn't afford to pay rent, so we are paying her rent in exchange for her cooking lunch for the kids.

She had a talk with Rachel about God last week and accepted Jesus!

The other day I was looking at my photos from 2008, when I went to Madagascar after mission school. I went to Madagascar to see what it was really like on the streets there? Well I found this picture of her! Yes Clarisse from 2008! She's on the streets in the middle of the night, begging and looking so totally miserable, holding a small baby.

Now that little baby is her 2 year old who is happy and lovely and she looks like a totally different woman! Isn't that awesome! And I had no idea when we hired her that I'd met her before. It's like God has totally picked her out and He's so in love with her!! It's so incredible to see!

IRIS MADAGASCAR HAS NGO STATUS!!!!

August 2010

Time to put their plans into actions.

So far they have rented a house, welcomed a local couple to the team and each day they have a group of street kids to lunch and story time.

 "Tranon'ny Harena Sarobidy"

House of the Precious Treasure

February 2009

The plan for Iris Madagascar is to build a Baby House called Tranon'ny Harena Sarobidy (House of the Precious Treasure). It will take in abandoned babies, orphans and also begin to take in street children and homeless families. They will be given a loving home and raised to know what precious treasures they really are, each one unique and with a special purpose in life.

Iris Madagascar is an Iris base which is currently in the early stages of development and will be the first base in Madagascar. Madagascar is an extremely beautiful island about 400km (250 miles) off the coast of Mozambique. It has an abundance of unique wildlife and plants, and many beautiful sights including rainforest, coast and mountains. Madagascar is also one of the poorest countries in the world, and is currently undergoing a political crisis. At the moment (according to the world banks), it is ranked as one of the poorest countries in the world. The population is 20 million and 85% of that population live on less than $2 a day. Sadly 1:10 children die before they reach 5 years old.

At the moment Caroline is setting up the project from outside the country, sorting out the paper work for NGO status in Madagascar, raising funds and putting together a team. She hopes to be in Madagascar sometime in 2010.
