Hi, I’m Gianna! Or as my friends in Madagascar call me, Gia. I first came to Madagascar on outreach in December 2014 after graduating from Harvest School 21. I fell in love with the nation and children from day one, and came back for one month in November 2015. While I was here, I had a vision. In the vision, the Lord told me he was going to show me his heart. He picked me up and it was as if he put me inside of him. What I saw was a very dirty and poverty-stricken place. A little girl, covered in dirt and with bugs in her hair, took my hand and led me down a dirt road. After a while, she bent down and brushed off the road. There was gold underneath the dirt! I heard the Lord say, “the Kingdom belongs to the children.” Then I saw the hands of Jesus pick up some of the gold, form it into a crown, and place it on the little girl’s head. She was totally transformed and no longer dirty but clean, smiling from ear to ear, and wearing a beautiful, sparkly princess dress. I heard the Lord say again, “the Kingdom belongs to the children.” Then he put me back on the floor of my room and said, “Now go tell them.” After this, I wept and applied to come back long term. I officially moved to Madagascar in February 2016. The Lord has really given me his heart for Madagascar, which I think is the most precious gift I’ve ever been given. My eyes well up with tears just thinking about it because I am forever overwhelmed by how much I love this place and its beautiful people. It is my great honor and privilege to run the Baby House here (something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 9 years old) and also help with Milk Program. God is soooo good!
